Straight out of the eighties!

So to give you all a little bit of background, when we first looked at the townhouse it was somewhat of an 80's fashion icon.  From the Christmas stripped Vegas style bathroom to the appliances which were top notch in 1981, the house definitely needed something of an update and some TLC to get it back on track. 

Whilst I could immediately see that the house had great bones, with its high ceilings, oak wood floors, the 3 stone fireplaces and gorgeous windows, Brian needed a little bit of coaxing to see that we could easily transform the house into something more modern but in keeping with the tradditional tudor facade (see pictures from the exterior below).

Here's a taster of how the house looked when we first viewed it and before we started on the renovations.

The Eighties Tiled Kitchen

The galley kitchen seemed a little dark and narrow for our tastes.  The uneven tiled floor we immediately decided would need to go.  The appliances were top of the line but extremely outdated.  The Selling Agent seemed to think a 1980's garabage compactor was a bit of a selling point.  I am not sure that either of us agreed with anything he said!

Now you are in for a real treat.  Seriously this was the wallpapered bathroom.  Red Green and Gold candy stripes.  Without hesitation it just had to go!
